Why #rosepourlacause?
#rosepourlacause is an initiative of Amy, the designer and creator behind Les Mailles à Mailloux. In 2019, Amy joined her cousin, the entrepreneur behind CYEL by Cendrine, to donate part of her October profits to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation.
Breast cancer is common among the Mailloux. We both grew up supporting our grandma, whose artist name was Rose, in this struggle.
As breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in Quebec, it went without saying that we continue the fight in honor of Grandma and for all the inspiring women around us.
In 2020, I decided to make my network go to have more impact. Those are 35 entrepreneurs who joined us in this adventure to promote local buying in addition to supporting the cause.
In 2021, I am pushing ink further. #rosepourlacause is becoming a virtual market for local creators and we will have more impact than we have ever had!

From October 1 to 31, 2021
October has been associated with breast cancer since 1985. It's a month where we stick together for the cause, where we feel generous and where we tell our loved ones that we love them.
From a practical standpoint (you have a business after all!), October marks the start of the holiday season campaigns. Now is the perfect time to introduce new products to your customers and talk about your holiday offerings.

Who am I?
You might be wondering why you would embark on this adventure with me and I understand that!
My name is Amy, I have been an entrepreneur since 2019 with my Etsy shop for hand-knitted and crocheted items, Les Mailles à Mailloux. Since then, I've also become a crochet pattern designer, community manager, content creator, proofreader, translator, strategist, and more!
Ah and that is just what I do part time!
By day, I am a cultural worker and worked for several years in the performing arts sector (project management, event organization, communications, development of partnerships, grants ...) before turning to the community sector and, now , television production.
I am a jack of all trades, but above all a passionate person!
